Optimise your search engine results with .biz

20% off .Biz domain names

Let’s face it, these days almost everyone is online, and it’s a tough virtual world to get your company noticed.

It’s not surprising that since its birth in 1985, .Com has become the world’s most popular domain, with the number of registrations growing every minute, limiting name availability.

It’s rather frustrating when you’ve spent days pondering over a perfect name for your company, only to find someone else has had the exact same brainwave. .Biz, created in 2001, opens up more choice, and provides businesses with the opportunity to register a well ranking domain name that may no longer be available with .Com.

The .Biz domain has been specifically created for businesses. You have a better chance at registering a domain name of your choice that matches your company’s aspirations.

  1. I would like to know how to market Lux Properties in Asia , middle east , India, America, Australia. If I was to use.biz what other domain names would you advice to get the most traffic to the site? Oliver

    1. Hi Oliver,
.biz is one of the 22 gTLDs (Generic Top-Level-Domains) the most familiar of these are .com, .net, .org and .info.
gTLDs are seen as ‘Generic’ extensions and not tied geographical to a particular area of the world. People in Australia for example are more likely to click a website address of their local extension (com.au) or one of the TLDs. You will find with the .com market being so crowded that you are more likely to be able to get the exact match to your company name, product, service or the even generic ‘search term’ keywords that are relevant to your business within the .biz

Domains are only a tiny part of a effective SEO strategy. If your site has a generic top-level domain, such as .com or .org, and targets users in a particular geographic location, you can provide Google with information that will help them determine how your site appears in their search results. This will also improve Google’s search results for geographic queries. Sites with country-coded top-level domains (such as .ie) are already associated with a geographic region, in this case Ireland. In this case, you won’t be able to specify a geographic location.
If no information is entered in your Google Webmaster Tools, they rely largely on the site’s country domain (.ca, .de, etc.). If an international domain (.com, .org, .eu, etc) has been used, they’ll rely on several signals, including IP address, location information on the page, links to the page, and any relevant information from Google Places. If you change hosting provider for a country domain, there should be no impact. If you change the hosting provider of an international domain to a provider in another country, they recommend using Webmaster Tools to tell Google which country your site should be associated with.
