Nominet Price Changes

On 01st March 2016, Nominet, the company responsible for all .UK domains, raised its wholesale domain prices for all registration terms. One year registrations increased marginally and all other wholesale prices increased by 50%.

Russell Haworth, CEO of Nominet, said;

“We’re committed to running a first-class service for .UK registrants, including our renowned customer service, and we’re doing more than ever before to ensure the .UK space is safe and trusted home for all. But costs have risen considerably since we last changed the price, and we need to compete in a promotion-driven industry.”

 What Does This Mean For You ?

We’ve taken a look at our pricing and in response to Nominet’s increase, we have made some changes to some of our new and renewal prices (excluding VAT) for all Nominet extensions.

We understand that price increases are never a pleasant thing and that’s why we’ve taken our time to make the right decision about how to manage these additional costs from Nominet.

New registrations of .co.uk, .me.uk, .org.uk and .uk will be charged at £6.99 p.a. but we will still be offering promotional discounts across these extensions, so look out for great offers.

This change is effective as of 20th April 2016. Resellers with large domain portfolios and custom pricing have been contacted directly about these changes.

We’ve also reviewed the prices charged for the renewal of Nominet domains and we have chosen not to pass on the whole price rise from Nominet and will be absorbing some of the costs ourselves.

Nominet one year renewal prices will not be changed, however, remaining terms will increase by just £1.00 p.a. These changes will be effective from 11th May 2016 and we will be contacting impacted customers directly.
