The proposed .eu domain is taking longer than expected to be launched due to ICANN dragging its feet and so the demand is so high for such a suffix, the .eu.com subdomain has been set up in the interim. There is a possibility that ICANN will never launch the .eu suffix and so the .eu.com will become very valuable indeed.
